The Pepsi Refresh Program
Written by Physical Environment Content Coordinator

The Pepsi-Cola Company is looking for projects to fund that will make our communities better. Pepsi will fund projects for a total of up to $1,300,000 per month nationwide.

Here's how it works:

“Each month, submissions will be accepted from the 1st through the 15th, or until we receive 1,000 ideas, whichever comes first. Submissions will be reviewed and approved projects will be posted and can then be voted on for the entire month following submission.

The submissions process is designed to clarify and hone your idea, and as a way for us to filter ideas that are inappropriate or illegal. We're looking for projects that are beneficial, achievable, constructive, and "shovel-ready" (meaning it can be finished within 12 months of funding).

Ideas chosen by users to receive grants will be announced at the end of the month. Then the whole process starts over.”

In Tucson, the Garden District Neighborhood (Grant to Speedway, Alvernon to Swan) has applied for $25,000 from the Pepsi Refresh Everything Project to build a walking/running track around the playground of their neighborhood school Wright Elementary.   The track will be for school and community use (see video). The requested project is called "Wright on Track"  and could use your support and your vote. There may be other projects from our area that receive funding from Pepsi - maybe yours?  Check it out.
