Major Streets in Tucson

Major streets are different from neighborhoods. People have lasting connections to neighborhoods. Streets are transitory. People only use them for a moment and then pass on. Commerce of all types occurs on major streets. When considering police activity in neighborhoods, the portion of the total activity occurring on major streets should be kept in mind.
 
A recent calculation showed that, based on 45 days of records, less than half of police incidents took place in neighborhood areas and on lesser streets. 52.6% of all incidents occurred on these 50 major streets:
